The adults have been known to pick it up and play too! The only concerns that I would mention: The reload mechanism is a little hard for my 4 year old to use, and I can't find anywhere to buy extra darts. We have lost one dart so far, and I'm sure that there will be more lost before summer. I can see why. This toy is great fun.The slide that "loads" each shot is too difficult, though, for him to pull back by himself. And the target is a little on the flimsy side, but it isn't all that long before a boy becomes a boy, and the target is the thing of the past and he is chasing his sister and me around the house with it. Actually, it's me chasing them, and all the while squeals of joyous laughter fill the house. I want one of these for myself! If you look around, you can find Buzz Bee at some stores at very reasonable prices. I personally really like this great gun.Let's look at my blaster criteria for this gun. 1) Power, despite a spring loaded air piston gun, it's got plenty of power and distance. People are always talking about 5 year olds not having enough strength to pull the string back but I'm not sure if 5 year olds should be playing these without adult supervision. 2) Speed, it's auto-rotate, you can get off 10 shots as quickly as you can pull the spring back 10 times. And people are always talking about losing the bullets. Yup, I've found that you can lose bullets even in an empty room without furniture, that is why Buzz Bee sells 100 pack bullet replacements! 3) Jamming - none at all.
